| Our faith in Jesus God, God incarnated in our world and history, moves us to live”the joys and hopes, the sorrows and anguishes of all the peoples of our time, mostly those of the Poor and of al those l who suffer”as if they were ours.(Gaudium et Spes 1 ). Due to this fact, one of the main characteristics of our Christian and Community identity is “to work in favour of a social transformation following the evangelic criteria” (*Ideario 1).
“The choice in favour of the Poor emerges from the compassion and the outrage we feel for the painful and growing fracture in the human family” (*Opción por los pobres). This choice moves us towards a critic and committed presence in our world. We claim for the efficiency of politics whose consequence on the real life of people is ideologically hidden (*El compromiso político). We look for a free, fair and caring society. Social activities do not bring along important consequences if they do not generate politic and structural changes.
As we are aware of the fact that faith does not really offer the means and practical resources for the social transformation, we assume the contibutions of human reasoning, of the sciences and of the civil mediations which make possible this transformation.
The parable of the yeast – symbol of the life of Jesus- moves us towards the heart of the world, as partners of all those who work in favour of a new society.
We want our lifes to give evidence of all this and to serve for praising the politic vocation -either in politic parties, in workers’unions , in protest organizations or in social movements-, as a service to the humans.
